Character Info
◎ Character's Name: Tadashi Hamada
◎ Character's Canon: Big Hero 6
◎ Character's Age: 21
◎ Canon Point: post-death
◎ Background/History: tadashi | BH6
◎ Is the character a hacker and/or do they have a sixth-sense? Tadashi's pretty well versed in robotics, so it would be safe to say his knowledge of coding is strong enough to do some hacking.
◎ Personality:
Tadashi Hamada is the kind of person you want to have in your life. Why? For one, he's extremely likeable. As the movie progresses and you see Tadashi interact with the people around him, he's always polite and kind. He cares about people, so much so that his major robotics project is a robot designed to tend to the sick. Even more than that, he's selfless. When faced with a dangerous situation, ie: a fire, rather than stand aside, he rushed in to do what he could to help, which ultimately cost him his life. Once he's your friend, there isn't much he wouldn't do to help you out. He puts time and effort into helping everyone around him, constantly encouraging Hiro, and making such a lasting impression on his friends that they barely hesitate to jump right in and help Hiro avenge his death. Even when the school rebuilds, the building is dedicated to him, showing his impact on the community around him.
While Tadashi definitely cares about all his friends and family, his little brother Hiro stands above the rest. As the only other surviving member of his immediate family, Tadashi is extremely overprotective of thenoble bamboo child. He would do anything for Hiro in a heartbeat. He's repeatedly rescued Hiro over the years: from bullies when they were younger, to angry botfighters after a botfight gone sour. He even got put in jail briefly due to the botfights, but never once did he pin the blame on Hiro. He constantly encourages Hiro, always uplifting him and trying to help him further his genius. Of course he jokes around and gives him a hard time, as any big brother would, but he's never harsh or mean. Even when he was arrested due to Hiro's actions, he doesn't yell. He may fuss, and he does tend to lecture, but he never takes his frustrations out on Hiro. He knows how to push him for the better, which isn't always the easiest thing to do with the handful that is Hiro Hamada.
Even at the young age of twenty-one, Tadashi is very hardworking and mature. A lot of it resulting from his parents dying while he was young, he grew up faster than most. Not only did he play big brother to Hiro, but he was a father figure to him too, teaching him and guiding him over the years. Not many twenty-one year olds have a plan for their life, either, but Tadashi was already enrolled in one of the best schools around, studying in a rather challenging robotics program. His education was important to him, and it showed in his work, as did his dedication. He put hours and hour into what he was striving for. In the video Baymax showed Hiro, we see Tadashi working late into the night, sacrificing sleep, just to accomplish his goals. Even when they run into Professor Callaghan while visiting the school, Callaghan doesn't seem all that surprised to find Tadashi there at such a late hour.
While not as smart as Hiro, Tadashi was a genius in his own right. Inventing and building since he was young, Tadashi has created many things over the years, with Hiro by his side. His gift with machines got him into SFIT, which is no easy task, given what Hiro had to do to get in. His most significant invention is one of the main characters in the movie: Baymax. Baymax is proof in himself just how smart Tadashi is. Not only is he coded to where he interacts appropriately with humans, he's able to adapt to changing situations. Not only that, Baymax is equipped with the ability to handle a rather large amount of healthcare problems, ranging from simple abrasions, to even instigating CPR and other lifesaving measures. Most significant is the scanner. Baymax is able to scan people and read them, from their vital signs to their lab work, all without any invasive measures. Being able to create a machine so complex and intricate really highlights Tadashi's skills in robotics, but also his desire to help. He could have created anything with his smarts, but he chose to build something to help people first.
While he completely lives up to his nerd status, Tadashi still knows how to have fun. He knows how to work hard, but to make the process fun along the way. He jokes around and teases people, Hiro especially. He's sarcastic enough to match Hiro, but also goofy enough to never leave his brother hanging from a fistbump, or even afraid to run around and yell from excitement when Baymax first worked. From a glance around the boys' room, a surfboard and soccer ball are both present, and judging by the hat Tadashi is almost always wearing, it wouldn't be hard to guess he enjoys being active outside in sports.
◎ Powers/Abilities: Tadashi's only power is his brain. While not as genius as Hiro, he's still very smart in his own right. He can build and code complex and intricate things, but most significantly, he designed and built Baymax.
◎ Weapons & Other Special Inventory:
- his moped
- journal full of notes
CEREALIA-Specific
◎ Element: Fire
◎ Sense: Touch: as a noted robotics expert, working with machines requires an expert, delicate touch. Without the sense of touch, continuing his work and goal of helping people would be impossible
◎ Seven Character Traits:
+ motivating
+ genius
+ likable
- loyal
- over-protective
- selfless
+/- hardworking

Finding out your world was destroyed and you were uploaded like data to a strange world was a lot to wrap your mind around. But finding out you died and your little brother teamed up with your friends to become super heroes in order to avenge your death? Yeah, that was something else.
Tadashi still didn't know how to feel after learning what transpired. While he didn't necessarily regret attempting to save his professor, he did regret what he did to those he cared about - Hiro especially. How could he do that, leaving Hiro alone like he did? He was grateful to learn his friends were there for him in his absence, but still. That shouldn't have been how things played out.
What Hiro did with Baymax, however-- he was especially torn. One part of him wanted to fuss at his brother for doing something so insane. And yet, he was amazed by the creativity and ingenuity that it required. How could he not be proud of his brother for using his brain to help people? So maybe it started out a little selfishly, a lot of Hiro's projects did. But he turned it into something that would do good -- and used Baymax in such a way he could've never thought of himself. Again, he was grateful to his friends for standing beside Hiro in this. He was honestly more surprised to hear they were doing the whole superhero thing too. Well, okay, maybe not Fred. He was always rambling about superheroes. But the others? How Hiro dragged them into it, he'd never understand. But it made him feel much, much better to know Hiro wasn't on the streets, doing risky and dangerous things on his own. Someone had to watch his back, after all.
Possibly the hardest part was learning it all because of Callaghan. He had known of Callaghan's dislike for Alistair Krei, but he never realized-- and how could he? How could any of them had seen it coming, when they all saw was the mask -- the good man they thought their professor truly was? But he didn't hate him for what he did, and he was proud to learn Hiro didn't either. That took a lot of courage, and compassion. Not many could go through what Hiro did, face the man responsible, and still risk their life to save his daughter. Maybe things didn't go the way Tadashi planned, maybe he hated the way things went, but that didn't change the fact that he was incredibly proud of his brother. How could he not be?
But if Hiro thought he was going to go out heroing in Cerealia? He had another thing coming. At least, if he thought he was going out without his brother.
